HelpDesk: A Field Action Project of Vajaha (Vana Jana Hakka) Foundation has been started at the Govt.Boys Observation Home, Nagpur in January 2025. The Project  Help Desk  at Nagpur is a collaborative initiative of  Vajaha (Vana Jana Hakka) Foundation with Azim Premji Foundation and Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra. The main purpose of the project is to provide socio-legal intervention and rehabilitation options to those getting caught within the Juvenile Justice System (JJS) in collaboration with the existing functionaries through Help Desk. Resource Cell for Juvenile Justice (RCJJ) a Field Action Project (FAP) with the Centre for Criminology and Justice (CCJ), School of Social Work (SSW), TISS is the knowledge Partner.The main objective is to work on issues relating with children with a special focus on Childin Conflict with Law (CCL) and contextualizing them within the child protection arena. The Help Desk continues to serve as a critical support system for staff, juveniles, and administration by handling socio legalqueries, bailissues, probation support, and rehabilitation concerns.This quarter saw slow by a steady increase in service requests related to juveniles at the Observation Home.

  • Help Desk supports in the task of rehabilitation process for a Children in Conflict with Law (CCL) cases for a heinous crime.
  • Help Desk conducts one on one meeting with juveniles at the Observation Home from January onwards.
  • Help Desk supports the JJB in declaring CCL cases as CNCP and hand over to a Child Care Institutes (CCIs).
  • Help Desk supports CCL in receiving a Free Legal Aid by the District Legal Service Authority (DLSA).
  • Help Desk team participates in programmes organised by the District Women and Child Department.
  • Help Desk team support in organising and maintaining the daily operations and filling the pending work at the Observation Home.
  • Help Desk team receivestraining on Juvenile Justice Act 2005 by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences.
  • Help Desk arrange trainings for Resource Organizations and JJ Functionaries.
